Sedona
Framework™ Set for Release on August 4th
I am
pleased to announce the Sedona
Framework™ will be released on August 4th.
The
Sedona Framework is targeted
specifically at embedded devices
bringing intelligence and connectivity
to the network edge and back,
particularly products that today are not
capable of running the Niagara
Framework.
Sedona is intended for devices
communicating over IP networks both in
wired and wireless topologies. The core
technology behind the Sedona Framework
will be available as open source through
a dedicated developer's web site. In
addition, Tridium will market custom
versions of Sedona, software tools,
certification and support services, as
well as hardware devices based on the
Jennic wireless microcontroller.
This initial release is offered in three
parts:
Open Source Sedona and Open Source
Sedona Workbench Tool:
available to anyone free via download
from the Sedona developer's web site and
includes access to the Sedona source
code, a 30-day trial of the tool and
certain documentation including
tutorial, porting guide, language
reference, and tips on NiagaraAX
integration.
Sedona Framework 1.0 for the Jennic 5139
Microcontroller:
the commercial hardware offering and
consists of the following:
-
A Sedona Developer's Kit which
includes a Sedona evaluation
board that allows potential
applications to be tried in a
real hardware environment so
that a developer can create
simple applications, supply live
data and activate representative
outputs.
-
Sedona-Jennic Modules that allow
for rapid development of custom
802.15.4 wireless devices based
on the 6LowPAN protocol.
-
A Sedona-Jennic Wireless Card
that enables Sedona-Jennic
devices to communicate with a
JACE.
Sedona Workbench:
the programming tool for customers
working exclusively with Sedona-based
devices. The Sedona Workbench will be
sold separately. If you are a Niagara
Partner, Sedona programming is available
as part of your Niagara Workbench at no
extra charge.
On August 4, we will be sending you an
announcement with more information and
additional details.
