| The student will develop
an understanding of how HVAC systems function in a typical facility
management and DDC control system. We will cover what FMS can do (HVAC,
Lighting, Fire, etc) as well as why we would want to (issues such as
productivity, IAQ, etc). We will also cover many of the principles that
make up the various HVAC processes such as Heat transfer, Psychrometrics,
etc. We will also cover the functions involved in controlling the basic
temperature, moisture, air quality and air circulation inside the
building’s zones. Pre-Requisites:
None
Course Objectives:
- List and describe the objectives of HVAC
control
systems in any building
- Describe how the environmental objectives
are achieved including:
-Primary equipment definition, use and operation
-Typical distribution systems and their operation
-Defining how zones function and their operating strategy
- Define the purpose of the following:
-All – Air systems
-All Water Systems
-Air –Water Systems
- The factors that affect environmental
control
