| This course
covers the basic LX controller hardware, its installation and operation,
and the software engineering to properly meet a specification using the
various LX series controllers. Pre-Requisites:
JCI FX Workbench Required,
Temporary license are available for a year for a fee of $200.00 each.
Course Objectives:
- Tell the basic purpose and use of an LX
controller in a typical HVAC installation.
- Use the on-line JCI Product Support site
and the LX HELP files to find answers to LX hardware and software questions.
- Describe the types and features of the
various inputs and outputs found on an LX controller.
- Given a specification and an LX
controller, correctly set up the various jumpers and switches found on the
controller for any application.
- Define the purpose and operation of a
typical LON bus.
- Describe basic programming of LON based LX
controllers.
- Given an LX-PRG300-1 controller and a
completed LX program, properly wire the controller to the field equipment.
- Demonstrate a successful upload and
download for an LX controller.
- Given a common specification, use the
various functions available in an LX controller including its inputs,
outputs, and program objects to construct a program that meets or exceeds
the given specification. Specifications will include at least one primary
plant example and one air handling unit example
