| This course teaches a
systematic approach to troubleshooting and start-up as they apply to FMS
systems. You'll learn the basics of troubleshooting including a
troubleshooting process. You will discuss the troubleshooting of each of
the various parts of a typical FMS system (such as sensor, controller,
actuator, network, and PC/Head end). A knowledge of instrumentation and
control is assumed. Pre-Requisites:
None
Course Objectives:
- Describe and demonstrate the use of a
systematic approach to troubleshooting.
- Define commissioning and describe the need
for procedures for proper commissioning of FMS systems.
- Given readings, Verify, Locate, and
Identify performance problems and the causes of the problems.
- Describe the need for performance
appraisal AFTER troubleshooting.
- Identify the common causes of sensor,
transmitter, controller, and final control element problems.
- Successfully troubleshoot control system
problems.
- Apply appropriate safety practices.
- Check and utilize product documentation.
